What Do I Do Next In My Business?

Feeling like you have so many things that all feel super important on your To Do List and just not sure which one to tackle first?

This is when prioritizing becomes super important and following others footsteps can stop the spinning of wheels and help you start to get real traction moving forward.

It's very rare to find 'instant hit' actions that make all the difference, instead it's a committed sequence of events that creates cumulative energy and has all the power in the end!

If you are unlucky enough to find yourself in the STUCK energy, then it's time to say enough and take some baby steps to move forward,

First off, take a deep breath and really let it go. Change your location, do you need to go outside, or into a quiet room ... take a moment to reconnect into yourself - even in a busy office, you can take a moment on the stairs or in the bathroom. Any time that overwhelm hits, it's important to have a reset button/action to take to clear your mind and simply breathe. If the energy has built up you might need to do some jumping jacks or take a quick stroll to release it before you can move forward.

Once the adrenalin has come down and you start to feel calmer, then you will be able to find a line of focus to take action. Just don't get yourself distracted into a new project, come back to where you were at.

Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?

These questions can become your best friends if you let them.

When we are repeating a cycle, creating a plan to get out is one of the easiest ways to become reengaged in a project.

Thinking about where you were before you took the break,

start to ask yourself the questions and write down the answers to let it flow from you.

Now ask - Who am I working for and who am I serving?

Are they the same or do you work for a company who then serves a different customer?

Next ... What was I trying to achieve? What is the intended outcome and what actions need to be taken to get there?

When would be the best time to do this? Are you working to a specific timeline or can you set your own parameters?

Continue on with Where? Why? and How?

Once you have all the answers you hopefully can compile an action plan for at least today and hopefully at least the next week or so to keep you on track and accountable to the whole mission you were initially on.

If for some reason you are overthinking or the answers aren't flowing, then it might be time to get some outside advice, this is when a mentor, coach or consultant can be important.

A mentor is generally someone who has been where you have been before and will likely know the situation from the inside out and be able to give you clarity on what you need next.

A coach is someone who ia full of motivation and has a unique way of helping you to find the answers within you, even if you were unable to find them in their yourself.

A consultant is someone who usually holds a degree in a specialty field and also has the life experience to back it up. They hold both the theory and the practical applications within them and so usually are able to charge more for you to have the privilege of accessing their expertise.

And sometimes you are actually doing better than you think and just need to take the pressure off yourself and with a bit of an outline and guide you are able to keep working the DIY path.

Depending on where you are in life, will depend on who you need to seek assistance from, or whether you need help at all. You might be doing OK by yourself, and just need a little guidance and encouragement to keep going.

If you are feeling even a little stuck, reaching out and getting help can make the difference between you 'keeping busy' and 'making money'.
